Independent help is linked from every page
Every page of this site, this one included, carries links to five independent gambling-help organisations. They are named in the list in the next section. These are the only outbound links on the whole site that are not commercial. Unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on each organisation's own website. This site receives nothing when you follow one of them. The eighteen-and-over restriction is repeated throughout this site, including on the front page.
These organisations offer independent help
- BeGambleAware
- Gamble Aware
- Gambling Therapy
- G GamCare Gambling Support: Starts Here
- NCPG
Each is an independent source of help, separate from this site and from any operator mentioned here.
A few habits keep gambling in proportion
None of the advice below needs special tools. Each habit removes a moment where a decision gets made under pressure.
- Decide the amount before you start. A limit set in advance is made with a clear head. A limit set mid-session is made by someone who is already winning or losing, and that person tends to move it.
- Treat that amount as already spent. If you think of the money as the price of the entertainment, a loss feels like the evening you paid for. It does not feel like a debt you have to win back.
- Never chase a loss. Each bet is independent of the last one, so staking more to recover money only adds new risk on top of the old loss.
- Keep borrowed money out of it. Credit, loans or money set aside for bills turn a lost stake into a repayment that keeps going after the session ends.
- Take regular breaks. Stepping away interrupts the momentum of quick, repeated play and gives you a chance to check whether you are still enjoying it.
- Involve someone else early. When gambling stops feeling like entertainment, telling a person you trust makes it harder to hide the problem, even from yourself. Talking to one of the organisations above is a good step too.
Account controls are set up at the destination
Deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion are things a reader arranges inside their own account with the operator they play at. If you want any of them, look for the settings in that account, or ask the operator directly, before you deposit.
This site cannot enforce any limit for you
This site has no account, no form and no server-side application. Nothing published here can switch a control on, check one or enforce one. Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it, so any check of that kind happens at the destination you choose. No advertising or behavioural profiling network is present in these pages, which means nothing here is targeted at a reader who has shown risky behaviour. It also means this site cannot notice if you are struggling. If you want to stop, the practical steps are the controls in your operator account and the independent organisations listed above.
